Sunday Siesta was our take on an easy summer Sunday dinner, hosted outside on the patio at The Green Gem in Smithtown.
Guests arrived to a welcome margaritas, house-made guacamole, fresh salsa and warm tortilla chips before moving into a multi-course dinner of freshly prepared empanadas, tacos made to order, and homemade coconut flan and bread pudding. Sangria, Corona, Modelo and Dos Equis were poured throughout the evening (of course).
What made The Green Gem such a special setting for this dinner was how personal everything felt. All the food at The Green Gem is prepared fresh and made to order and you can feel how much heart this family has put into what they’re building.
Around the table was a mix of familiar and new faces. Some guests were joining us for their second, third, even fifth Supper Club, while for many others, it was their first.
By the end of the night, people had settled in, conversations were moving across the table, familiar faces were reconnecting, and new ones were getting to know each other.
A simple Sunday evening, really good food, and another reminder of what can happen when you bring the right people around a table.
